Organic Skin Care and You
April 25, 2018
Organic skin care. This topic came up in conversation this morning and coincidentally, my friend and fellow consultant, Julie, had some info to share on the same exact topic this afternoon so I thought I would share it with you too. What is safe skin?
ORGANIC. NATURAL. SAFE.
These are popular buzz words… especially in the Bay Area commonly referring to food + beverages. However, I hear it a lot in relation to skincare…I may get some opposition on this but talking about all aspects of skin care is what I do
“I only use organic/natural skincare.”
Don’t get me wrong, organic/natural is GREAT when it comes to food and beverage because the “organic” label actually means something about how the food is grown and processed. But, this principle does NOT apply to skincare. No one is REGULATING the “organic” or “natural” claims on cosmetic and skincare products.
Companies could add a trace amount of pomegranate for scent and call something “organic”. The “organic” or “natural” label is merely a marketing technique that taps into your fears of chemicals. http://ginapearson.com/want-the-best-in-skin-care/
Poison Oak is natural, but I wouldn’t rub it on my face. Bacteria is natural, but I wouldn’t rub it on my face either. I’d much prefer an FDA-approved preservative to keep the bacteria from growing in my skincare.
Be careful of what marketing ploys you fall for and or fear tactics others use to get you to try their products. “Organic” or “natural” CERTAINLY won’t treat your skin concerns by providing you dramatic results. I’d much rather use clinically-proven products that have been painstakingly vetted to ensure their safety and are created by successful dermatologists that actually prove their products GET RESULTS. http://ginapearson.com/1289-2/
Food for thought: people wind up with medical issues because they DON’T use good skincare, not because they DO.
P.S. In California your favorite cup of coffee is soon to be labeled as cancer causing. You gonna stop drinking it? Probably not because you won’t be huffing the harmful fumes they are referencing when the beans are roasted that are cancer causing. Right? It’s all about perspective.
I LOVE representing skincare products that are kind to the environment! 🐠🐸🐳🌿
💙 The vegetable gel capsules from the Redefine Intensive Renewing Serum and the Redefine Lip Renewing Serum all start to disintegrate when they come in contact with water.
💙 Our Microdermabrasion Paste doesn’t have those non-biodegradable beads in them, our product uses sugar and salt to polish your skin and get rid of the dead skin cells.
💙 R+F NEVER tests their products on animals.
💙 All the R+F products are in recyclable containers and clearly state on them, “Please recycle.”
